Public access into Spring Creek and Middle Concho parks will be restricted until the annual Showdown in San Angelo drag boat races begin on Friday, June 22, so venues can be readied for the event.   Public access is also restricted to the waters from Horseshoe Bend in Spring Creek Park past Spring Creek Marina to Middle Concho.  The Chamber of Commerce will administere the parks during the weekend, regulating camping and selling passes ata the parks' entry gates.

Mejor Que Nada Barbeque Cook-Off
Entry fee to compete in the Barbeque Cook-off is $125 for one entry of brisket, chicken and ribs.  To compete in the speciality Beans preparatrion $20.  The payout 30%, 20% and 10%.  The public is invited to taste for a donation.  People's choice award tickets will also be available to the public for purchase.  Location:  Mejor Que Nada Parking Lot: 1911 S.
