The Kendall Art Gallery will feature the art work of Fort Concho Elementary School, Kindergarten through 5th grades. The art projects were completed during art classes and in classrooms with their teachers and during after-school enrichment classes with art instructors. A wide variety of media and content will be displayed. The exhibit will open with a reception, March 21st (during art walk) at 119 West 1st Street and the public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a special Art Walk 5-year Anniversary drawing for those who attend. The show runs through April 13th. Angelo State University hosts this annual symposium on contemporary ceramic arts. Panelists for the 2012 symposium will include Susan Toomey Frost, Michael Shapiro, Claudia Reese and Keith Kreeger. Howard Taylor, Director of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, will serve as Panel Moderataor. Acting as Symposium Coordinator is Esteban Apodaca, Professor of Art in ceramics at Angelo State University. April 18, 1 - 6pm: Randy Brodnax will lead participants in a workshop of raku and alternative firing techniques at the Old Chicken Farm Art Center, 2505 N. Martin Luther King Blvd. Participants are encouraged to bring bisque work to glaze and fire. Cost $25 (call SAMFA to register: 325-653-3333).

San Angelo Bass Busters Open Tournament

Shrimpfest - San Angelo Rotary Club
Fundraiser for San Angelo Rotary Club includes a plate of boiled shrimp, German link sausage, and beans for $12. Water & tea will also be served. Rev up your engine and show off your car at the sixth annual Sunset Mall Motor Show at Sunset Mall parking lot on the Sears side. Auto classes from 1900 until the present, trucks from 1900 - 1975 & 1976 to present. All year boat and motorcycle classes. Prizes for each division. Featuring multiple Rodeo/Agrarian based events for children ages 2-14. Some of the highlighted events include: Mutton Bustin', Stick Horse Races, Boot Scramble, Dummy Steer Roping, Tractor Pull and Petting Zoos. The Mutton Bustin' entry fee is $10, Tractor Pull $5 and all other events at $2. Located at the Downtown Stockee Yards (across from Concho's Downtown Restaurant) Registration for the event will begin at 11:00 am. Open cerermonies include the Concho Chicks, an all-female drill team on horseback. Concho Cowboys (re-enactment group) will be on hand to deputize all of the participating children. Kettel corn and lemonade will be made available. Come and celebrate the region's agricultural and ranching heritage starting with the traditional Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at dawn, followed by living history demonstrations, special displays, exhibits, 1800's baseball, booths for vendors and children's activities. This events celebrates the region's pioneer/western/agricultural traditions. United Campus Ministries and Big Brothers Big Sisters will host a Poker Run (motorcylce event) beginning at Family Powersports, 4160 Houston-Harte Expressway. Check-in and registration begins at 8:00 am with riders leaving as they register. Last rider out will be at 12:00 noon. Cash prizes for the top three hands and the worst hand 50/50 drawing. Entertainment, and food after the run. Entry fee is $25 for riders and $5 for passengers with additional poker hands available at $5 ea. 23rd Annual Healthy Families San Angelo Children's Fair
At College Hills Park next to Unidad Park at the corner of College Hills Boulevard and Vista del Arroyo. The Children's Fair has become a tradition in the Concho Valley for families and children to have an outing in the park and enjoy a myriad of food, games, and activity booths which benefit children's causes. Everything is geared to the child in all of us. All booths are run by organizations benefiting children.
