The Kendall Art Gallery will feature the art work of Fort Concho Elementary School, Kindergarten through 5th grades.  The art projects were completed during art classes and in classrooms with their teachers and during after-school enrichment classes with art instructors.  A wide variety of media and content will be displayed.  The exhibit will open with a reception, March 21st (during art walk) at 119 West 1st Street and the public is invited to attend.  Light refreshments will be served and there will be a special Art Walk 5-year Anniversary drawing for those who attend.  The show runs through April 13th.  Gallery hours are Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday 1-4pm, and Wednesday 9am - 1pm.  Most shows are free to the public and donations afre gratefully accepted.  FMI: Visit website posted above.

Chalk Art Festival

Art in Uncommon Places will host "Rock the Chalk" on the sidewalks of the Tom Green County Courthouse and Wells Fargo Bank, 36 W. Angelo State University hosts this annual symposium on contemporary ceramic arts.  Panelists for the 2012 symposium will include Susan Toomey Frost, Michael Shapiro, Claudia Reese and Keith Kreeger. Rev up your engine and show off your car at the sixth annual Sunset Mall Motor Show at Sunset Mall parking lot on the Sears side.  Auto classes from 1900 until the present, trucks from 1900 - 1975 & 1976 to present.  All year boat and motorcycle classes.  Prizes for each division.  Entry fee is $25 and includes t-shirt, dash plaque and goody bag.  Pre-register from April 1-12, 2013 and get $5 off your entry fee.  Registration from 9-10am.  Motor show runs from 10 am to 5 pm.

Free public lecture "Capturing the Character of Place" by David Csont, nationally recognized artist.

Thursday, April 25 at the Concho Christoval River Retreat, 9:00 - 11:00 am
Interested viewers are invited to quietly wander along this picturesque bend in the South Concho River to observe artists participating in plein-air painting.

Friday, April 26 behind the San Angelo Museum, 1 Love Street, 9:00 - 11:00 am & 1:30 - 4:00 pm
Viewers may quietly obsere artists working out in the open capturing landscapes, vistas and structures along the River Walk as well as nearby downtown views.

United Campus Ministries and Big Brothers Big Sisters will host a Poker Run (motorcylce event) beginning at  Family Powersports, 4160 Houston-Harte Expressway.  Check-in and registration begins at 8:00 am with riders leaving as they register.  Last rider out will be at 12:00 noon.  Cash prizes for the top three hands and the worst hand 50/50 drawing.  Entertainment, and food after the run.  Entry fee is $25 for riders and $5 for passengers with additional poker hands available at $5 ea.  A $5 rider discount will be given for advance online registration at website posted above.  All riders must be properly licensed, registered and insured.  FMI:  Gary Sanford 325-949-0239 or 325-234-6127  This events is a benefit supporting United Campus Ministries at Angelo State University and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

23rd Annual Healthy Families San Angelo Children's Fair
At College Hills Park next to Unidad Park at the corner of College Hills Boulevard and Vista del Arroyo.  The Children's Fair has become a tradition in the Concho Valley for families and children to have an outing in the park and enjoy a myriad of food, games, and activity booths which benefit children's causes.    Everything is geared to the child in all of us.  All booths are run by organizations benefiting children.  Additionally there is an Open Stage for kids to perform on before a live audience and a Giant Raffle with lots of prizes.  FMI:  325-658-2771 or email: lmclemens@aol.com
